Background

“Africa Feeding Africa”

“Africa Feeding Africa” is a core priority of the African Development Bank and is aligned with the Bank’s Ten Year Strategy (2013-2022) for inclusive and green growth. During the High Level Conference on African Agricultural Transformation held in Dakar, Senegal in October 2015, graced by leading agricultural experts from Africa and beyond, eighteen (18) central themes which would be critical for revitalizing African agriculture were identified.

The Technologies for African Agricultural Transformation program

The Technologies for African Agricultural Transformation (TAAT) Program aims to revitalize and transform agriculture while restoring degraded land and maintaining or strengthening the ecosystems that underpin agriculture.

The workshop

The Identification and Preparation Workshop serves as a response to the Action Plan for Agricultural Transformation in Africa resulting from the Dakar High Level Conference and its stated need “To execute a bold plan to achieve rapid agricultural transformation across Africa through raising agricultural productivity”.
