Rhoda Tumusiime holds a Master’s Degree in Economics, Planning and Managing Rural Development. She recently worked with the African Union as a Commissioner for Rural Economy & Agriculture from 2008 to 2017. Her roles covered multiple sectors ranging from crop agriculture, research, livestock, fisheries, forestry, land, water, environment, climate change, climate services, disaster risk reduction and rural development. She’s a strong advocate for agricultural transformation through modernization, poverty eradication, food and nutrition security and job creation. She’s a firm believer in the inclusion of youth and women in the agribusiness value chains through establishment of incubation and innovation centers to promote agriculture commercialization. Her expertise and experience as well as commitment to African Agriculture have seen her serve in a number of key positions in local and international organizations.
