The Gambia is one of eleven African countries in which the IITA is currently working on facilitating the manufacturing and distribution of aflasafe at a commercial scale through the Aflasafe Technical Transfer and Commercialization (ATTC) project. Aflasafe is a biocontrol product designed to reduce aflatoxin contamination in crops and food. Aflatoxin is a poison which affects approximately 25% of the world’s food supply, and disproportionately impacts the poor.
We are actively involved in improving the capacity for strategic analysis and knowledge management of the agricultural sector among African regional and national partners through Regional Strategic Analysis and Knowledge Support System in West Africa (ReSAKSS-WA Phase III) project.
