Scaling of biocontrol of aflatoxin in Maize: Lessons and pathways for improved food and nutrition security in Africa

Project goal

IITA and Wageningen University & Research (WUR) want to systematically analyze the experiences from the scaling of Aflasafe in Nigeria and other cases of technological innovations (e.g., orange flesh sweet potato) to enhance nutrition security for rural populations and improve livelihoods at scale. This will be done in close collaboration with private and public sector scaling partners such as Nestlé and governments in Nigeria, Senegal, and Kenya where Aflatoxins threaten nutrition security. The associated research is part of the CGIAR Research Program on Agriculture for Nutrition and Health (A4NH).
