Dr. Kam-Rigne Laossi, a Chad and French citizen, is a Post-Doctoral Fellow on Integrated Soil Fertility Management for the CocoaSoils Program. He is based in Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire). He holds a Ph.D. in Ecology and Environment from Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris, France (2008). He holds two Master of Science degrees in Agroecology and Sustainable Agriculture from Université Paris Sud in France (2005) and Ecology, Evolution, Systematics and Population Biology from Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris, France (2004). Prior to joining IITA, he was the Owner and Head of operations of a farming business in Doba, Chad. He also worked as a Project Manager and Research &Development Specialist at the Nestle R&D Centre in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire where he implemented and managed research projects some operations of the cocoa sustainability program of the Company. His professional experience also includes positions as a Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Rouen, France and Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD) in Paris, France. Dr. Laossi, brings to CocoaSoils 7 years of working on cocoa in the private sector. He speaks French, English, Portuguese and Chadian Arabic.
