Olokemeji Reforestation Project

Project goals

To determine and offer sustainable solutions to the threats confronting the Olokemeji Forest Reserve (OFR) and restore its degraded areas.

Expected results

  •  Threats to the OFR identified and mitigated via sustainable options.
  • OFR and its associated watershed restored with native tree species.
  • Employment creation (52 field staff employed around the OFR).
  • A total of 250 (125 females and 125 males) rural households trained in alternative ventures.
  • Five School Conservation Clubs established around OFR.
  • Project findings published in international peer-reviewed journals
