Agricultural transformation in Nigerian federal states and Togolese regions towards achieving Zero Hunger
Project goal
The goal of the project is to contribute to the zero hunger initiatives within the rice and cassava value chains in Nigeria and Togo, focusing on technology and innovation as well as policy analysis and engagement for technology uptake.
Expected results
- Increased rice and cassava farming system productivity through the adoption of locally developed and tested agricultural technologies and innovative crop management practices.
- Improved nutrition in rice and cassava farming communities.
- Comprehensive review of agricultural policies and frameworks relevant to agricultural transformation, including farm input access.
- Facilitated policy engagement and dialogue to promote public investments and partnerships with the private sector.
- Identification and resolution of bottlenecks, gaps, and challenges to scaling up technologies.
- Enhanced participation of farmers in seed production through revised seed policies.
- Projects aligned and aggregated to contribute to the achievement of agricultural goals in Nigeria and Togo.
- Increased uptake of developed and tested technologies in a conducive policy environment.
