iSPARK: innovation in sustainability, policy, adaptation, and resilience in Kenya

Project goals

The project’s goal is to evaluate agronomic innovations for sustainability and resilience, assess their success under varying climate and policy scenarios, and integrate multi-scale evidence to develop strategies and investment cases for sustainable agriculture.

Expected Results:

1. Inventory of possible agronomic innovations.

2. Baseline farmer typologies.

3. Benchmarks of productivity, water use, and nutrient needs based on the AgWise framework.

4. Synthesis report on WP1 results.

5. Crop productivity projections using AgWise for climate x management scenarios.

6. iFEED workshops.

7. Synthesis report on iFEED scenario results.

8. Inclusion of Kenya in EiA ASSAP for East Africa.

9. AgWise advisories aligned to innovations with weather and seasonal predictions.

10. AgWise pipelines with KAOP and connections with private sector weather forecast providers explored.

11. Dissemination framework for AgWise advisories with multiple delivery channels.

12. Capacity development through training and materials on AgWise advisory development provided to KALRO and others.
