Theme: “Hacking for Photosynthesis: From Field Performance to Genetic Architecture”
As part of ongoing efforts to enhance photosynthesis for improved crop resilience and productivity in the face of climate change, the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in collaboration with the University of Cambridge (U.K.), the Jan Ingenhousz Institute (Netherlands), and RWTH Aachen University (Germany) will host a Photosynthesis Hackathon at IITA, Accra, Ghana, from March 9–13, 2026.
This five-day event will bring together crop physiologists, computational biologists, plant breeders, data analysts, and engineers to explore innovative ways of using real-world photosynthesis datasets to identify genetic variations influencing photosynthetic performance and their connection to crop yield.
Registration is now open and will close on November 9, 2025.
