Richard Golding

Richard Golding is an independent management consultant, specialising in governance, finance, oversight and risk management advisory services for multilateral and other international organisations. He is based near Geneva, Switzerland.
Richard was appointed to the CGIAR Audit, Finance & Risk Committee (AFRC) of the CGIAR, headquartered in Montpellier, France, from 1st June 2021. He also serves as AFRC ‘Focal Point’ for the Center Boards of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) based in Ibadan, Nigeria and the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) based in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
He was also a Center Board member of the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) in Nairobi, Kenya and Chair of the ILRI Finance Committee from 2015 to 2023. He also served as an Independent Expert member of the Finance & Accountability Committee of the Board of Unitaid in Geneva.
Until the end of 2020, he was Finance Director of The New Humanitarian – a leading not-for-profit humanitarian digital news organisation based in Geneva, Switzerland.
Prior to 2012, he spent 25 years as a management consultant and senior Partner with PwC based in London, Geneva and New York and was PwC’s Global Relationship Partner for the United Nations System, The Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis & Malaria and other multilateral organisations as well as being an independent advisor to the UK and Swiss governments on international development policies.
He is a UK chartered accountant speaking English and French. He is passionate about food security, nature conservation and biodiversity.
