Feed the Future (FtF) Nigeria integrated agriculture activity
Project’s Goal
The project’s goal is to improve food security, increase agricultural incomes, and enhance resilience among smallholder farmers and their families in Adamawa and Borno States by providing quality agricultural inputs, strengthening market linkages, and increasing engagement of youth, women, and vulnerable groups in agriculture and agribusiness.
Expected result
- Improved food security and agricultural incomes for Adamawa and Borno States smallholder farmers.
- Enhanced resilience among farmers and their families.
- Increased availability and access to quality agricultural inputs and effective extension services.
- Strengthened market linkages and improved nutrition for households.
- Boost engagement of youth, women, and vulnerable groups in agriculture and agribusiness.
- Disseminated improved legume and cereal crop varieties to 40,000 farm households.
- Provided breeder and foundation seeds to seed companies and farmers for seed production.
- Trained 100 agro-input dealers per state to support 40,000 smallholder farmers.
- Improved access to financial services and income-generating opportunities for 5,000 individuals.
Enhanced access to nutritious foods and financial institutions for 5,000 vulnerable households and 500 producer groups.
