Mr. Yinka Fakunle, a distinguished Nigerian IT professional, is the Head, Head of IT Operations & Information Security. With over two decades of experience as a seasoned, results-driven global IT Leader, Mr. Fakunle has established a solid track record of effective leadership and operational management. He excels in delivering high-quality service and overseeing all aspects of multi-million-dollar IT enterprise information systems, security, infrastructure, and operations.

Mr. Fakunle holds an MSc in Information Security and Digital Forensics from the University of East London, United Kingdom, and an MBA in Management Information Systems from UNICAF University. Additionally, he earned a degree in Computer Science and Information Technology. He has further enhanced his leadership capabilities with a Certificate in Organizational Leadership, a Certificate in Management Essentials, a Certificate in Strategy Execution, and an overall Certificate of Specialization in Leadership and Management from Harvard Business School. Moreover, he has a Cybersecurity Management Certificate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Renowned for his extensive professional certifications in IT, Security, Risk, Governance, and Control Frameworks, Mr. Fakunle’s credentials include Microsoft (MCP, MCDBA, MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, EA), Cisco (CCNA, CCNP), RedHat (RHCSA, RHCE), EC-Council (CEH, CCISO), ISACA (CISM, COBIT), IARCP (CISRCP, CRCMP), EPI (CDCP, CDCS), SD Institute (SDA, SDM) and several ISO certifications.

Before joining IITA in 2015, Mr. Fakunle held significant positions in the pension fund and financial industry in Abuja, FCT, where he served as Manager of Information Technology & Operations and Head of Information Communication Technology at leading financial organizations, respectively. Before these roles, he worked progressively as Head of Engineering and Project Manager, leading various IT enterprise projects across Nigeria for several IT service provider organizations in Lagos.

Mr. Fakunle is a skilled and proficient project leader adept at directing multiple operations and concurrent projects to achieve corporate, enterprise, and client objectives. He is also highly regarded for his talent in IT professional recruitment, building, and capacity development and providing mentorship and coaching to nurture the next generation of IT leaders.
