The partnership will also promote South-South cooperation, leveraging China’s technological advancements and best practices in agriculture and food processing. The aim is to support technology dissemination and adoption to improve agricultural productivity and food security.

Also, IITA and CAU will jointly develop proposals to seek financial backing from international and Chinese sources to fund collaborative research and development projects.

The MoU, which will be in effect for five years, marks a significant step in enhancing agricultural innovation and sustainability efforts in developing countries. It reflects the unwavering commitment of both parties to promoting education, agricultural research, and sustainable agricultural practices while adhering to the public welfare policies and legal frameworks of their respective countries. This commitment should reassure the public and reignite the confidence in the future of agricultural research.
